An Empire of Beauty

Poet: Sanjiv Rai
Translation from Nepali: Hem
Bishwakarma

"Seldom exists more
beautiful
The other than the grandeur
of a beautiful poetry!"—
As a Godly edifice
explained in mythos
A strong belief in me
Collapsed from its base
to ruins
With an invasion of your
beauty

Distressed I am to see
How come deep water in
your eyes
Fill the way—
That sinks the sky of my
thirst?

How much you are with
Such water under your
body?
When
I see,
An unseen rushing fire glares
in me
I have become ashes
Burnt with your water

Threatening openly
The rebel beauty spread
on your face
Terrifies the troops of
my word force

Oops! How to sight
and endure that misery
While I am banished
From the empire of
beauty?
